Schoox allows for coaching sessions with team members at a set cadence or as needed. This provides managers the ability to track their team members' strengths and areas of opportunity, ensuring they continue to grow even after training is complete.
Starting a Session
In the left navigation, make sure you are in the Team Workspace.
When in the Team Workspace, select Coaching and then select Sessions.
Sessions
The Sessions section is organized into two tabs — Upcoming and Past.
Narrow your search with filtering, searching, and sorting. Filtering options include elements from your academy's organizational structure, Topics, Status, State, Date (timeframe), and Location.
When Career Paths is enabled, you can also filter sessions by Mapped jobs (a single job) or, when Skills is enabled too, by Mapped skills (a single skill). Leave a filter unselected to see all sessions.
In each session, you can view its details, edit it, delete it, and navigate into the session itself.
Session Details
When you view a session, you are able to view its details, manage it if you have permission, and bring up the form to start the coaching session.
When Career Paths is enabled, session details also include a Mapped jobs section listing the jobs connected to the session (or “No mapped jobs” if none are mapped). When Skills is enabled too, a Mapped skills section lists the active skills connected to the session (or “No mapped skills” if none are mapped).
In the Form tab, you can fill out and complete the session.
During a coaching session, coaches can upload photos or other relevant images to support their documentation. The uploaded images can be rearranged in the desired order using drag-and-drop functionality, and all changes are saved automatically.
In the Notes tab, you can take and review the notes associated with the session.
Creating New Sessions
When creating a new session or sessions, you are able to select the date, time and duration, and then determine whether or not it is recurring.
When Career Paths is enabled, you can also map one or more jobs to the session under Map jobs — choose from the learner’s current jobs and followed jobs. Mapped jobs decide which coaching sessions surface on that learner’s Career page. When Skills is enabled too, you can map one or more active skills to the session under Map skills the same way.
You can then select the learner from the list below.
On the next page, select the topic and form, provide a description, and determine if the session should be rated and reviewed and by whom.
Lastly, type in the address where the session will be held. A map will automatically be displayed.
At the bottom of the page, select Save when finished (or Reset to clear your changes).
You can then return to the sessions to set up more, if needed.
Attending Coaching Sessions as a Learner
In the Learner Workspace, under Development and Coaching, learners will find their coaching sessions. Selecting it will take them into the session.
There they will find the session's details, as well as a place to complete the form and sign off.
When Career Paths is enabled, session details here also include a Mapped jobs section (or “No mapped jobs” if none apply) and, when Skills is enabled too, a Mapped skills section (or “No mapped skills” if none apply).
Note: Coaching sessions may be marked as Canceled in certain circumstances, such as when a learner declines a session or when a coach or coachee becomes inactive. For information about canceled session visibility, status behavior, and editing permissions, refer to Coaching Sessions: Canceled Sessions and Session Editing.
