Setting Prerequisites for a Learning Path

Schoox gives you the option to set prerequisites for your Learning Paths in order to make sure that your employees will have the proper knowledge when they will try to complete their training.

You, as an Admin, have the option to set the prerequisites for a Learning Path from the Prerequisites page. Once the prerequisites have been set, users will be required to complete them prior to the actual Learning Path that they want to take.

You can add both Courses and other Learning Paths as prerequisites to a Learning Path. Let's check how you can achieve this in more detail!

Navigation

In the left navigation, make sure you are in the Academy Workspace.

When in the Academy Workspace, select Training Admin for all Training Administration options.

Select Manage Training and then select Learning Paths.

Select the Learning Path you want to set the prerequisites for and select Prerequisites in the Learning Path panel on the right.

On this page, you add a new course or Learning Path as a prerequisite. You can also manage all prior prerequisites, including the entire path of prerequisites and its order. For more information on this, please read also: Keeping Track of Prerequisites in Your Academy

Select the Courses and/or the Learning Paths that you want to add as prerequisites by clicking the "+" icon next to their name. Once you are done click on the Submit button at the bottom of the page. The Prerequisites will be shown on the About page of the Learning Path.

When the user will try to take the courses of this Learning Path, they will see a note informing them that they cannot proceed until the prerequisites are completed.
