Step 2: Select Users

After the desired language is selected, it is time to select who should have this preferred language. You have the option to select either specific employees (Individual assignment) or several individuals based on your organizational structure (Advanced assignment).

Individual Assignment

You can find individuals easier using the search field and drop-down filter menus. To select an individual, simply click the plus symbol next to their name in the left-hand column. The user will then appear in the right-hand Selected column. To remove an individual from the selected list, click their minus symbol.

If you have any Learning Paths set up with courses in multiple languages, these will assign the course based on the user their preferred language. Checking the Change Learning paths Language box will make sure they get assigned to the preferred language of courses in Learning Paths they're already part of.

You can also add a message for the users if you wish. To finish the process, select the Set Preferred Language button to complete the process.

Advanced assignment

You can also select users based on their job and location. Moreover, you can create an assignment rule to be applied automatically in the future.

Under Advanced assignment, select the specific job to which this process should be applied. Then, select both the desired Above Units and Units in their respective columns, filtering using the drop-down menus, if needed. The number of individuals affected will appear below.

Check Automated assignment rule to create a rule for this language that will be applied also to future hires that fit this criteria.

You can also Exclude academy members added before a specific date.
