Venues are predefined places that you can create, in order to easily specify the meeting place for an In-Class Training Event.
Navigation
In the left navigation, make sure you are in the Academy Workspace.
Under Training Admin, select Manage Training and then select Events.
At the top of the Events page, select the Venues tab.
Finding and Filtering Venues
The Venues tab lists every venue you've created, with columns for Title, Location, Room, and Available seats. Archived venues display an Archived tag next to their title.
Use the search field to find a venue by title, and the sorting dropdown to sort the list by Title (the default, A to Z) or by Available seats. A State checkbox filter lets you show only Active or only Archived venues.
Creating and Managing Event Venues
Creating a Venue
To create a new venue, select the Create venue button. Fill in the fields:
- Title -- required.
- Room -- optional.
- Available seats -- required; any whole number from 1 to 2000. Defaults to 50.
- Additional Info -- optional.
- Location -- optional; start typing to search, then select the location from the type-ahead results. There's no separate confirmation step for this field.
Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*). The Create button stays greyed out, with an explanatory tooltip on hover, until every required field is filled in with a valid value. Select Create to finish, or Back to return to the Venues list without saving.
After creating it, your venue will now be available when creating an event.
Managing a Venue
After creating a venue you have the option to:
1. Edit the Venue and change some of the information you have initially added.
When the venue is edited, the "Details about your event have changed" notification is triggered and sent to both event participants and event instructors, provided that this notification is enabled in your academy. Please note that this notification is triggered only for upcoming events.
2. Archive the Venue so it will no longer be available to be added to an event. You can later find it under the archived venues and Restore it or Delete it if needed.
3. Duplicate the venue. An exact copy will be created, which you can edit to quickly set up a similar venue.
4. Delete the venue permanently.
Each of these actions -- Edit, Archive, Duplicate, Delete, and Restore -- now opens its own confirmation step, with a heading, message, and button label specific to that action.
Adding a venue to a specific event
After you have created a venue you can add it to an existing event or to a new event you are about to create. To do so, head to the Edit Event page, and select the venue from the dropdown. Don't forget to click Save when finished!
Note: Make sure that the maximum number of seats you add in the event's description, doesn't exceed the venue's actual seating capacity, provided in the venue description (Manage Venues).
