As an Admin or Training Manager of an Academy, you have the ability to set the order in which you prefer courses to appear in lists. You also have the option to select to promote any of your Academy's courses, including external (purchased) courses. Let's check each option in more detail.
In the left navigation, make sure you are in the Academy Workspace.
When in the Academy Workspace, select Training Admin for all Training Administration options.
Select Settings and then select Training Items Listing.
Note: For purchased and external courses to be listed on the Training Items Listing page, the logged in user needs to either be enrolled in the course, or the course should have active coupons.
Promoting Courses
The Promoted Courses gadget can be added to the Learner workspace home page. Promoted courses are highlighted in that gadget. For more information on this and in order to add the Promoted Courses block, please check the following how-to article and follow the instructions: Utilizing Your Academy Home Pages
To choose which courses are displayed as promoted, toggle each Promoted option to Yes.
Up to three courses can be highlighted at any one time. For a course to populate as a promoted course on a Home Page, the individual can not be already enrolled in the course.
Note
- Courses need to be public to be promoted.
- Course category visibility rules outweigh the promoted courses setup. Promoted courses won't be visible to anyone who does not have access to its category.
Ordering Courses Listing
On this page, you also have the ability to set the order in which you prefer courses to appear. There are two options you can use: Priority (All) and Priority (Enrolled).
Priority (All)
The Priority (All) column refers to the order in which all courses will appear in the available course list. The greater the number, the earlier (or higher) the course will appear.
Courses will appear in the order of the numbers you give them, from highest to lowest. Courses with no number added (zero) will appear last, with the most recent populating first.
Priority (Enrolled)
The Priority (Enrolled) column refers to the order in which all courses will appear in the enrolled course list. The greater the number, the earlier (or higher) the course will appear.
Courses will appear in the order of the numbers you give them, from highest to lowest. Courses with no number added (zero) will appear last, with the most recent populating first.
Mass update course categories
From the same page, you also have the option to mass update your courses' categories. Read more on this functionality here: Managing Training Categories
