Polls are a great tool to take a look at the opinions of your team members on specific aspects of the learning process or on the academy in general.
Where to find Polls
In the left navigation, make sure you are in the Academy Workspace.
When in the Academy Workspace, select Training Admin for all Training Administration options.
Then select Polls.
Under the Training Admin, you can also add polls to an event.
When in the Academy Workspace, select Training Admin for all Training Administration options.
Select Manage Training and then select In-Class Events.
If you are looking for the Virtual Events instead, select that option to view the list of available events. Locate the desired event and click Manage Polls on the right-hand side.
Available Options
On the Polls page, you can organize and manage your polls using the following options:
Sorting: Sort polls alphabetically in ascending order (A–Z) or descending order (Z–A).
-
Filtering: Use the filters on the left-hand side to narrow down results.
Connection: Filter polls by:
Standalone polls
Polls associated with a course
Polls associated with a learning path
Visibility: Filter polls by Public or Private status.
Each poll includes a visibility toggle, allowing you to control whether the poll is visible to users.
Editing and Managing Polls
Selecting Edit Poll will redirect you to the Poll Panel, where you can:
Edit the poll
Preview the poll
Delete the poll, if necessary
Note: To remove a poll from active use, you can either delete it or set its visibility to Private, which hides it from users.
For non-event polls (standalone, course, or learning path polls), you also have the option to upload an image.
Additional Actions
The three-dot (More) menu on the Polls page next to each poll provides additional actions, including:
Viewing poll results
Viewing closed-ended poll results
Exporting open-ended poll responses
Poll Results
Under Poll Results, you will be able to have a quick review of the responses that your employees have given. Here you can also filter by organizational structure to check the answers of a specific org node or filter by dates to check the answers within a specific timeframe.
View Closed-ended Results
Under Closed-Ended Questions, you can review the results of the closed-ended questions of the poll as a bar chart in PDF format that you can download for future reference.
Export Open-ended Results
Once you click on the Open-Ended Questions option, an excel/ .csv file will be downloaded, containing all of the answers per open-ended question.
Event Polls within multiple-offer events
For Event Polls within multiple-offer events, you also have the option to copy the poll that is associated with the main event to one of the additional event offers. To do so, select the multiple offer(s) that you wish to copy the poll into, and then click Copy. The poll will be copied to the multiple offer(s) you selected!
Private Standalone Polls
Last but not least, you have the option to make your Private Standalone Polls available only to specific Employees.
To do so, just find the Poll in question and click on the Assign option in the Poll Panel. You will be given the option to assign the poll either to specific employees (By person) or to a group of employees based on their job and location (By criteria).
Notes:
- There isn't a way to disable the default notification that says 'You have been assigned a Poll'.
- Retaking standalone polls is not currently supported.
Changing a Poll Expiration Date
The expiration date is used to ensure that no user will complete this poll after this date. This means the expiration date is not editable after it has passed.
If the expiration date has not passed yet, you can edit it when the poll is added to a pool. After adding the poll to a pool, this option is under Edit Poll, then select Poll Pools from the Poll Panel, and edit the poll from there.
If the expiration date of a poll needs to be updated after it has already expired, it may indicate that the original expiration date was not set correctly or that an expiration date was not necessary. To ensure no additional users can respond to a poll after a specific date, you can leave the expiration date field blank and change the poll's status to private when needed. This will prevent any further responses from being recorded.
