Course Retirement and Replacement Process

To keep their learning content fresh and up-to-date, content providers regularly retire outdated courses. Schoox ensures these updates are applied promptly, keeping courses in your academy aligned with the latest versions.

Upcoming Course Retirements

When a course is scheduled for retirement, the Upcoming Retirement Date will be displayed under the course title. Additionally, you can view upcoming retirements and content updates at: Schoox Marketplace Updates.

Replacement Courses

Most courses set to be retired will have a suggested replacement. Depending on your subscription, the replacement course may already be available in your academy. If not, contact your content sales representative to add the replacement course to your subscription.

For Traliant content, replacement courses have already been added to the relevant clients’ academies, so no one should be missing a replacement.

Admin Actions for Course Retirements

When courses are retired, admins may need to take the following actions:

  • Assign new courses: Ensure users are enrolled in the replacement courses.
  • Update Learning Paths: Replace retired courses in learning paths with the new versions.
    • Maintain user progress: Pay attention to the "Maintain Progress" setting to ensure users' progress is tracked correctly.

Important: Retired Courses and Reporting

Retired courses are not automatically removed from your academy, allowing you to access historical reporting data.

Scheduled Notifications

To stay informed about course changes, admins can set up two useful notifications in the academy:

  1. Notification about upcoming course retirement.
  2. Notification about course retirement.

Note: For admins to receive notifications about the retirement of externally purchased courses, at least one user must be enrolled in the course.
