Why did I receive a reassignment notification for a course I am no longer enrolled in?

It is possible to receive a course reassignment notification even if you are not currently enrolled in the course. This typically occurs when the course has certificate expiration settings enabled.

Use Case Scenario

You successfully completed the course and were subsequently unassigned from it. However, you later received a notification indicating that you have been assigned to retake the course. Since you are no longer enrolled, please note that you will need to re-enroll in order to proceed with the recertification.

Explanation

This behavior is expected and is related to the course's certificate expiration settings.

Specifically, if a course is configured to trigger a reassignment based on the certificate expiration date, the system will automatically reset your progress to ensure continued compliance or certification—regardless of your current enrollment status.

In this case, although you have been unassigned from the course, the certificate expiration settings triggered the notification to inform you that your progress was reset as part of the recertification process.

Where to Confirm This Notification

You can verify this type of notification by navigating to:

Academy Workspace > Training Admin > Notifications > Academy > Course/Learning Paths

Look for the notification titled:
