What Happens to a Group Automated Registration Rule When Its Creator Is Terminated?

Use Case Overview

When the user who created a Group Automated Registration Rule is terminated in your academy, you might wonder how this affects the rule’s behavior and the automatic registration of new users.

How It Works

  • Rule Status
The Group Automated Registration Rule itself will remain active in your system. However, it will stop registering any new users who meet the rule’s criteria.
  • New Users Matching the Criteria
Any new users who match the conditions defined in the rule will not be automatically registered to the Group. Instead, they will appear in the Employees to Register list.

  • Reactivating the Rule Owner
If you later reactivate the user account of the rule’s creator, please note that any users who accumulated in the “Employees to Register” list during the deactivation period will not be automatically registered

How to Register Pending Users
To ensure these pending users are added to the Group, you will need to manually complete this step:

  1. Go to the Group’s Automated Registration Rule settings.
  2. Review the Employees to Register list.
  3. Click the Set Rule button.

This action will register all listed users and re-apply the rule moving forward.

Tip: If the terminated user will not be reactivated, consider creating a new Automated Registration Rule under a current admin account to avoid any disruption in group enrollment.
