Hiding the Social Workspace from Users

As an admin, you may want to remove the Social Workspace from view for all users, either temporarily or permanently, to simplify the user interface or limit access to social features.

While there is no single toggle to remove the Social Workspace icon, this can be achieved by disabling all associated features. Once disabled, the Social Workspace will be hidden from the users.

Steps to Follow

1) Navigate to  Settings.

In the left navigation, make sure you are in the Academy Workspace.

When in the Academy Workspace, select Settings

2) From the left-hand side, select the Social filter type.

3) Disable all the following features:

  • Feed

  • Connections

  • Groups

  • Gamification

  • Badges


Result

  1. The Social Workspace icon will no longer be visible to users.

  2. Admins will still have the option to enable this icon, as they retain access to the Settings page for configuration purposes.

This method ensures a clean user interface for learners, while still allowing administrators to re-enable features at any time.
