If you notice unexpected search results when using the reporting dashboard, this article explains why this may happen and how to ensure your search results are accurate.
Why This Happens
When you access the reporting dashboard, the system begins loading the initial catalog of courses in the background. If you start searching or applying filters before this process is complete, the search may be interrupted.
As a result, you might temporarily see incorrect or incomplete results — for example, search results may appear correctly at first but then change or disappear as the page continues to load.
Expected Behavior
This is expected behavior when the search is performed before the dashboard has finished loading its initial data.
How to Ensure Accurate Search Results
To get consistent and accurate results:
Wait for the dashboard to fully load before performing a search.
Look for the “processing” indicator (i.e. a rotating striped bar) in the center of the screen.
Once the indicator disappears and the page has finished loading, you can safely enter your search terms or apply filters.
By waiting for the dashboard to complete loading, your search will return accurate and reliable results.
