Understanding Where Managers Land When Logging into the Mobile App

You may occasionally wonder where Managers are directed when they log into the Schoox mobile app. This article walks you through exactly how landing pages work across Web and Mobile, and what you can expect depending on user settings and permissions.

By understanding how Landing Page preferences and Workspace availability interact, you’ll be able to confidently guide users and ensure their experience aligns with expectations.

How Landing Pages Work in Schoox

Every user in Schoox can define their own Landing Page preference through their Privacy & Preferences settings in the Web app. From this page, you can select the Workspace that the user will land on when logging in to the Web app.

For detailed, step-by-step instructions, please refer to Changing Your Landing Page

Mobile Schoox app follows these saved preferences for Learner, Social and Team Workspaces.

What Happens for Managers with Team Workspace Access?

If a Unit Manager has sufficient permissions to access the Team Workspace, they will land on the same page as an Admin when logging into the mobile app. This is expected behavior and reflects the permissions and Workspace access assigned to the user.

Academy or Business Impact as Landing Page (Mobile App)

There is one important distinction to keep in mind:

  • The Mobile app does not include the Academy Workspace or Business Impact Workspace.

So, if a user selects:

  • Academy Workspace, or

  • Business Impact Workspace

as their default Landing Page, the following will happen when they log in via Mobile:

  • They will automatically land in the Team Workspace instead.

This ensures a seamless experience within the available Mobile environment.

What Opens First in Mobile?

Once the user lands in a Workspace in the Mobile app, the system automatically opens the first menu option within that Workspace.

For the Team Workspace, this will be:

  • Team Home, or

  • Academy Announcements

The exact page depends on the Academy Settings configuration.

Key Takeaways

  • Landing Pages are controlled individually by each user through their personal settings on the Web app.

  • Mobile Schoox app follows those preferences.

  • If a non-supported Workspace (Academy or Business Impact) is selected, Mobile redirects to Team Workspace.

  • The first menu item inside the selected Workspace automatically opens in Mobile.

  • Managers with proper permissions may have a landing experience identical to Admins.
