Enabling, Configuring, and Using LINA — AI Chatbot

This functionality is part of the Schoox Intelligent Learning Platform and is currently rolling out to customers in groups, with general availability targeted for late August 2026. Don't see it in Academy Settings? Join the waitlist to let us know you're ready.

LINA is your academy's Learning-in-Action Assistant. It allows those who have been given permission to use LINA, to learn and build skills right where work happens. LINA reference information already in your academy, whether that information was presented in coursework or resides in your resource library.

LINA will search the following:

  • documents
  • uploaded video (via transcription)
  • audio (via transcription)
  • locally stored SCORM packages

LINA will NOT search the following:

  • images
  • videos added via URL on streaming services (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.)
  • external courses (as a rule — AICC content is not stored within the academy, and other external courses may be protected)

LINA will only search content the user has access to via their individual permissions. If they do not have access to a PDF, for example, because it is part of a category to which they have no access, LINA will not search that PDF.

For example, a server at a restaurant may have just learned about a new dish being served, but cannot remember all the ingredients. To make sure they are ready for their shift, they can quickly ask LINA.

Enabling and Configuring LINA

Enable LINA by navigating to your academy settings — Academy Workspace > Settings. Under the Academy filter, select Chatbot - LINA.

If you do not see this option, please let Support or your Schoox representative know.

Select the toggle to move it to the right and enable LINA.

By default, everyone in your academy will have access to LINA. If you'd only prefer a specific members to have access, select Manage Permissions.

On the modal that appears, select the members you'd like to have access, name the rule, and Set Rule.

Be sure to save when finished.

Using LINA

After selecting LINA's icon at the top of the page, a modal will appear. Simply type in a question, and LINA will do its best to find an answer from the information provided in your academy.

  • To prevent LINA being used while a learner is being evaluated, LINA will not be available if an exam or OJT is viewable in the same browser.
  • LINA will search all kinds of documents, video, audio, and locally stored SCORM packages. Images are not searched.
  • LINA will only search content the user has access to via their individual permissions. If they do not have access to a PDF, for example, because it is part of a category to which they have no access, LINA will not search that PDF.
  • LINA will provide references to the content where answers were found. The user can then easily visit the content directly.
  • Conversations will be saved for future reference, but can be deleted by the user.
  • Start a new conversation by selecting Start new chat.
