Admins can track the changes made to courses and learning paths, including who made each change, when it happened, and why (if your academy requires or allows a comment). This gives administrators and instructors a clear, searchable record of every update.

Enabling Update History
By default, this feature is disabled in your academy. To enable it, navigate to the Training academy settings (Academy Workspace > Settings > Training Filter). Under the Courses and Learning Paths sections, there is an additional Track update history for courses (learning paths) toggle.
Enable the setting by toggling it to the right.
The options that appear affect how comments are handled after making a change:
- Required presents the comment modal and does not allow the user to close it before leaving a comment. The system tracks who made the change.
- Optional presents the comment modal but allows the user to skip it. The system tracks who made the change.
- Off does not present a comment modal, but still tracks who made the change.
Save when finished.
Adding a Comment When You Make a Change
When Update History is enabled, making one of the tracked changes to a Course or Learning Path (for example, changing its title, adding or removing a course, or updating a lecture) and saving triggers a comment modal, if your academy's setting requires or allows one. Enter the reason for the change, then confirm. If a single save affects more than one item, you're only prompted for one comment, and that same comment is applied to every related entry.
Viewing Update History for a Course or Learning Path
While editing a Course or Learning Path, an Update History option appears in the right-side menu under the Course Panel (or Learning Path panel).
From there, you can filter and search to find specific updates. The date and time, the specific user who performed the action, and the action's details are all listed.
Search by name, email, username, or external ID to find a specific person's changes, or use the filters to narrow by date range or by action.
Selecting the eye icon displays the comment, if one was provided.
- The list shows the most recent 20 changes first (load more to see older ones), sorted newest to oldest.
- Comments are capped at 150 characters.
- If an update was made before this feature was tracking comments, or none was entered, the comment icon won't be clickable.
- Entries from academy members who have since been removed from your academy still appear in the history.
