If you're being signed out of Schoox after just a few minutes of use — whether you were actively working or briefly away from your screen — this article explains why that can happen and what to check.
Symptoms
- You're redirected to the login page after a short period — sometimes as little as five minutes — even though you expect a much longer session.
- This can happen whether you were actively using Schoox or away from your screen, which can make it feel unpredictable.
- Signing back in works immediately, and you're returned to your Schoox homepage.
How Session Timeout Is Determined Across Multiple Academies
Each academy has its own web session timeout setting, which controls how long you can stay signed in before you need to log in again.
If you're a member of more than one academy, Schoox applies the shortest session timeout configured across all of your academy memberships — not the setting on the academy you're currently working in.
This means that even if your main academy is configured with a long session timeout, you can still be logged out much sooner if you also belong to any other academy — for example, a demo, sandbox, or training academy — that has a shorter timeout configured, even one you rarely or never actively use.
Checking and Adjusting Session Timeout Settings
1. Review Each Academy's Session Timeout Setting
If you're an academy administrator, make sure you're in the Academy Workspace from the left navigation, then select Settings. Locate the session timeout setting for your academy (sometimes labeled Session Expiration Time). Compare this value across every academy you're a member of — the shortest one determines how long your session actually lasts.
2. Update the Setting If Needed
If one of your academies has a shorter session timeout than intended, an academy administrator can update it in the Academy Workspace's Settings page to a value that better matches your organization's needs.
Verify It Worked
Once the shorter timeout setting has been corrected, users who belong to multiple academies should experience the longer, intended session length instead of being logged out early.
