Understanding the Perception Gap

If Skills are set up in your Academy, users with reporting permissions can see the perception gap between a users self-assessments and their managers' assessments.

The Perception Gap will then help you better understand the gap between how the user evaluates themselves on specific skills and how their managers evaluate them.

Navigation

In the left navigation, make sure you are in the Team Workspace.

When in the Team Workspace, select My Team Dashboard and then select Skills.

Here, select Perception Gap in the top navigation.

This shows the average perception gap for all employees you have reporting permissions for, and the average perception gap per employee.

Click on the graph icon to see the perception gap per assessed skill.

Zero: The employee and manager rated the employee the exact same

Positive: The employee rated themselves higher than their manager rated them

Negative: The manager rated the employee higher than the employee rated themselves
