In Schoox, you can upload videos to your resources to use as bonus content, lectures, or share with users as standalone videos. You can add subtitles to the video if you have the file for it.
In the following article you can find more information about video files: Video files - Supported formats and Codecs
Adding Subtitles to Videos in Resources
In the left navigation, make sure you are in the Academy Workspace.
When in the Academy Workspace, select Training Admin for all Training Administration options. Here, select Resources.
Find the relevant video, select More Info and then select Subtitles on the right.
Select the language and upload the file to add subtitles to the video.
Adding Subtitles to Course Lecture Videos
When in the Academy Workspace, select Training Admin. Here, select Manage Training -> Courses.
Find the relevant and open the relevant course. In the Course Panel, select Lectures. Find the video you want to upload the subtitles to and select Subtitles.
Note that the Lectures option is only available for uploaded videos in internal courses. External videos, such as YouTube links, do not allow you to upload videos. The same goes for external courses through a partner; those are not editable to the same extent.
Select the language and upload the file. You can add subtitles in different languages, and can see which languages have already been uploaded.
Notes:
- If a video file has been edited so that the subtitles would be visible, they will be visible for the user when the video is playing in Schoox.
- If you upload a subtitle file (ie. vtt, .srt) into the video, the user will have to click the 'cc' icon (closed caption) within the video to show the subtitles. Please note that you should select the language prior to uploading.
- The subtitles are also visible when using the mobile app.
- Editing the size of the subtitles is nοt supported.
