A Learning Path is a type of training comprised of a group of courses usually on a related topic. Learning Paths can have multiple courses of the same language or different languages. Based on how you set them up you can have different Learning Path functionalities to fit your needs!

Navigation

In the left navigation, make sure you are in the Academy Workspace.

When in the Academy Workspace, select Training Admin for all Training Administration options.

Select Manage Training and then select Learning Paths.

Select Create Learning Path to create a new Learning Path.

Creating a Learning Path

After clicking the Create Learning Path button, you will be directed to Manage Course page with the option to start creating your learning path from existing courses.

Step 1

To add existing courses to your learning path, select a course, and drag and drop them into the Create Learning Path block at the bottom of the page.

When done, select Save to save these courses to your learning path.

Step 2

The next step is about setting up the information related to the learning path. There are a few things to fill out.

  • Title: The name of the Learning Path.
  • Description: The description of the Learning Path.
  • Tags: Tags related to the Learning Path to make it easier for learners to find it.
  • Training Category: One or more Training Categories. Users can only see public training in categories they have View Permissions for.

  • Award Certificate: Whether users receive a certificate upon completion.
  • Certificate Expiration: If Award Certificate is set to Yes, the time the certificate is valid for.
  • Reassign when Certificate Expires: If Award Certificate is set to Yes, whether the Learning Path should be automatically reassigned when the certificate expires.

  • Default Language: The default language of the learning path. Users who enroll in a Learning Path may be assigned to different learning path courses based on the language you select here, their preferred language, and how you set up your courses. The default language cannot be changed after creation.
  • Learning Path Duration: How long the learning path should last. Learning Paths aggregate the total value of courses as written in the course estimated duration, this option allows you to override that.
  • Compliance: If the Learning Path is a Compliance Training. See more at Managing Your Academy's Compliance Learning Paths.
  • Rating: Whether users can rate the Learning Path. The rating will show in the flashcard on streams, and on the Learning Path about page.
  • Learning Path Completion Date: When the Learning Path should be considered completed.

users completed on their own or were completed by admin. This is the default option, which will set the completion date based on the last course completed, independently of if it was completed by user or admin.
users completed on their own. In this case, the courses that were completed by the admin and not by the user will be ignored when the Learning Path completion date is calculated.
were completed by admin. In this case, the courses that were completed by the user and not by admin will be ignored when the Learning Path completion date is calculated.

In all cases, the completion date will be the date that the last course was completed. These settings decide whether the last course taken into account for completion is the last course completed by admin, the last course completed by the user, or the last course completed in general.
  • Self Enrollment: This allows you to set restrictions on who can self-enroll by requiring a manager to approve a self-enrollment first. When clicking the checkbox, you can use the organizational criteria to select who needs approval first.
  • Administrative Notes: Notes for other Training Managers and Admins to see. If you make an update to a Learning Path, set a step to private, or did anything else you want to communicate, you can leave it here.

Scroll down and select Save to create your new Learning Path!
