Performing an Assessment as a Manager

As a manager, you can assess the skills of users within your organizational structure, provided your academy’s admin has granted you the necessary permissions. If you have access to assess users, you can complete manual assessments.

To review and manage assessments, navigate to the Team Workspace and select Skills from the left menu. There, you will find the Performance Assessment page, where you can view and complete skill evaluations.

Perform Assessment

Manual Assessment is the type of assessment that a manager can complete at any time without being requested to. This type of assessment can be completed whenever a manager wants to evaluate the users under his org structure.

In the left navigation, make sure you are in the Team Workspace.

Skill Filters

The following filters are available across all tabs:

  • Skill Type
Displays all skill types that are associated with at least one academy skill.
  • Skill Category
Displays all skill categories that are associated with at least one academy skill.
  • Skill Group
Displays all skill groups that are associated with at least one academy skill.

Job Filter

The Job filter is conditionally displayed based on the selected tab:

  • Current Job Skills
Displays the learner’s current jobs that are visible to the logged-in user.
  • Followed Job Skills
    Displays the learner’s followed jobs.

These filters enable managers to narrow down the list and focus on specific skill types, categories, or groups that are most relevant to their discussion with the learner.

The Individual Assessment page includes three main tabs: Current Job Skills, Followed Job Skills, and Other Skills. Assessors can review details, see previous assessments, understand score context, and record new assessments.

Select Assess to initiate the assessment process.

The Skill Score displayed for each skill is calculated based on your academy’s configured Assessment Settings. It represents the weighted combined score from online training and managers’ assessments.

Notes

  • When a skill is associated with both the learner’s current job and a followed job, it is displayed under both Current Job Skills and Followed Job Skills.

  • When a skill is associated only with the learner’s current job, it is displayed exclusively under Current Job Skills.

  • When a skill is associated only with a followed job and not with the learner’s current job, it is displayed exclusively under Followed Job Skills and does not appear in Current Job Skills.

  • If no skills are associated with the learner’s current job, the Current Job Skills tab will display an empty state instead of a list.

  • When a skill is assigned by an administrator but is not associated with either the learner’s current job or any followed job, it is displayed exclusively under Other Skills.

  • When a skill is assigned by an administrator and is also associated with the learner’s current job or a followed job, it is not displayed under Other Skills and remains only within the relevant mapped section(s).
  • If a skill is also assigned by Admin, the row shows an Assigned by Admin tag next to the skill name.

  • The skill name is clickable and opens a detailed view, including information such as the description, skill type, category, and group. If the skill is associated with multiple jobs, the popover also displays job-specific details, including the relationship to each job, the required proficiency level, and the importance of the skill per job.

  • Skill names are displayed with a maximum length of 50 characters. When a title exceeds this limit, it is automatically shortened for display purposes, and the full title can be viewed by hovering over it.

  • The Skill Group and Skill Category filters include all academy groups and categories that are associated with at least one skill. However, a group or category can appear in the filters even if none of its skills are eligible to be displayed in the Current Job Skills list.
