Schoox gives you a high degree of freedom on how to create a course. You can add lectures by uploading your own files, such as SCORM files (SCORM 1.2).
This article will give you more information on how to upload a SCORM file created by Adobe Captivate 9.
- Prepare your SCORM containing slides, content, quizzes, etc. for Adobe Captivate 9.
- Follow the recommended settings below before publishing this SCORM in Schoox
- In an open project, open the Preferences. Set the category to Quiz -> Reporting.
- Select Enable Reporting for this project. Set LMS to Other Standard LMSs.
- Set Standard to SCORM 1.2.
This opens the window shown below. You don't have to make any changes here. Click on OK to create the manifest file. - Set Template to Default.
- Set the Status Representation. For SCORM 1.2 Version & 2004 4th Edition, the Status Representation should be Incomplete - > Passed/Failed.
- Set Success/Completion Criteria to Slide views and/or quiz. Check off the Quiz checkbox and select Quiz is Passed.
- Under Data to Report, set Quiz Score to Percentage. Check the Interaction Data box.
- Click on the Advanced button. The below window will open:
Check Send Data On Every Slide and Escape Version and Session ID as shown in the picture. Press OK to continue. - Go to the Quiz -> Settings category.
- Set Required to Required - The user must take the quiz to continue. You don't need to make any further changes here.
- Set the category to Project -> Size and Quality. Set your audio settings.
- Set the Category to Recording -> Settings. Set your audio settings.
- Set the Category to Quiz -> Pass or Fail. You can decide on the settings. The Pass/Fall Options allow you to decide the percentage of points, or total points, needed for a pass. The If Failing Grade option allows you to set the amount of attempts required, and whether it should show a retake button. Note that these settings affect the SCORM file itself, and to change these settings, the SCORM itself needs to be changed.
- Open the Project -> Advanced Interaction dialog box to make sure the scoring has been set up correctly.
The example above shows three different quiz questions their results. In order to get the correct results you have to make sure that the returned points for each quiz question are displayed correctly.
Note: The quiz must be passed for the course to be marked complete. - Publish the project.
- Select File -> Publish
- Set Publish As to HTML5/SWF
- Set Project Title to the desired name
- Set Location to the location you want to save the file
- Check Zip Files
- Under Output Format check both SWF and HTML5
- Check Force re-publish on all slides
- Check Scalable HTML content to rescale the SCORM on smaller screens
- Click on Publish when ready to create your Schoox-ready SCORM
You are now ready to go and upload your SCORM as a lecture to any Schoox course!
Alternatively, you can create a responsive project on Adobe Captivate with the same settings as above (step 1-10).
Clicking the button Responsive Project, shows you five breakpoints in which we recommend the following three default screen resolutions:
