As an Admin, you can enable self-assessments for your employees. Through self-assessments, your employees can evaluate themselves both in their required skills and the available Academy Skills. Self-assessments can help you better understand the gap between how you evaluate your employees on certain skills and how different they perceive themselves in the same skills. In Schoox this is called the Perception Gap.
First, you need to enable the self-assessments for your employees. To find out how read: Enabling Skills in Your Academy
Please note that your employees will be able to assess themselves using the Rating System you chose when setting up your Academy's Skills.
Once you enable the self-assessments your employees will be able to submit an assessment by going to the Development -> Skills page in the Learner Workspace.
You, as an Admin, will be able to track these requests under the Skills -> Perform Assessments page in the Team Workspace, along with all the assessments made for this user by their managers. Just click on New Assessment to review previous assessments. On the same page, admins and managers with the relevant permission are able to assess the employees under their organizational structure. Once the employee and the manager have both provided an assessment, the perception gap dashboard will help you investigate the gap in the perception between your managers and their team members with respect to their performance.
The Perception Gap Dashboard is only available for Admins.
In the left navigation, make sure you are in the Team Workspace.
When in the Team Workspace, select My Team Dashboard and then select Development.
Then Skills.
And the Assessment gap tab.
At the top of the Assessment gap tab, a color legend explains how large each learner's gap is: Green (0% to 10%), Orange (11% to 24%), and Red (25% to 100%).
The page displays the assessment gap overall at the top, and a list of all team members below.
You can also filter results by any user custom fields set up for your academy. The "Assessment gap" filter defaults to showing only learners who have a gap -- set it to "No" if you also want to include learners without one.
Zero: The employee and manager rated the employee the exact same
Positive: The employee rated themselves higher than their manager rated them
Negative: The manager rated the employee higher than the employee rated themselves
In the team member list, you can see the assessment gap for each user. Select the individual's arrow to reveal the user's scores for the manual and self-assessment in each skill. Additionally, you can see the assessment gap for each skill individually.
The "Average assessment gap" column shows each learner's average gap across their skills. Only skills with a measurable gap are counted, and the value is always shown as a positive number, regardless of whether the manager's or the learner's score was higher.[KB Product Releases Automation · ISTA-122393]
At the top of the page, the "Total assessment gap" statistic is the average of every listed learner's "Average assessment gap."
