Error: YouTube Video Unavailable

Case:

When users attempt to access a YouTube video embedded within a SCORM package, they may encounter the following error message:
"Video unavailable. This video is restricted from being viewed on this domain"

Answer:

Schoox offers a built-in integration with YouTube for video content added directly as Lectures or Library items. In these cases, YouTube videos are supported and can be played within the platform without issue.

However, SCORM packages operate differently. When a YouTube video is embedded within a SCORM file, it is typically included via an iframe. YouTube imposes certain restrictions on video embedding, and some videos may not allow playback within iframes or on specific domains. As a result, the video may not be viewable within the SCORM content in Schoox.

This limitation cannot be resolved within Schoox, as we do not have control over the content or permissions set within the SCORM file or on YouTube. To resolve the issue, the creator or owner of the YouTube video would need to adjust the video’s embedding permissions to allow playback on external sites.
