Note: The AI Skills Mapping feature is not available by default in academies. To activate it, submit the request to support or your customer success representative. |
You are able to select specific skills that are important in your organization, and then associate, or map, those skills with specific course work and jobs. When learners gain proficiencies in those skills taking related course work, it may lead to opportunities with associated jobs.
You are not only able to add these important skills to your academy manually, but also using Artificial Intelligence, if enabled in your academy.
Add Company Name and Industry
The more information you can provide AI, the more complete or accurate the results can be. While adjusting the academy's look, you will find two new fields at the top of the page — Company Name and Industry Name.
Type in your organization's name, then type in or select from the drop-down list the industry that best fits. This information will help AI better understand the types of skills and jobs may be associated with your organization. These fields will also be shown while mapping skills later on in the process, allowing you to adjust the company name and industry as you progress. These fields will always reflect the current company name and industry.
NOTE: These values can be adjusted anywhere these fields exist within the academy. When an Admin changes either of these fields, the value is changed from that point on everywhere in the academy; the change will not affect skill mapping that has already been completed. If non-Admins adjust these fields, in those instances where they may have access to them, the changed values will only pertain to that specific task on which they are working.
Add and Map Skills with AI
When in the Academy Workspace, select Development Admin.
Select Skills and then select Manage Skills.
On the right, under Add skill, select Add with AI.
You will be taken to the Map Skills section.
On the page that appears, your academy's jobs and courses will be listed under the respective tab.
Select the eye icon to view the AI suggested skills.
Select the Suggested skills tab.
AI will then suggest ten to fifteen skills, each with a relevance or importance value (the impact the skill has on the course or job, rated on a scale of 1-10), and its reasons behind the choice. For courses, AI will suggest 10, and for jobs, AI will suggest 15; ten job specific skills and 5 general skills.
Check the boxes next to any skills that you deem relevant, and select Map skills at the top.
You can also reject skills if you'd like to hide them from this job/course suggestions in the future. Any rejected skills will be replaced with alternatives; there will always be a list of ten or fifteen skills available (for courses and jobs, respectively), available from which to choose at any one time.
After selecting Map skills, AI will try to determine if any newly chosen skills might be duplicates of existing mapped skills. If it finds any, you will need to determine whether you'd like to keep or replace the existing skill or have both skills in your list.
The final step is to set the proficiency level of each, if you'd like to tie the skills to performance reviews, and adjust the importance of each AI suggested earlier.
Save when finished.
