If you notice that some expired certificates still appear in your Analytics Dashboard even after you have renewed them, this article explains why they remain visible and how you can filter your view to display only your active certificates.
Overview
The Learner Analytics Dashboard is designed to present a complete record of your certification history. This includes all certificates you have earned, whether they are active or expired. As a result, even after you complete a course again and earn a new, valid certificate, the previously expired certificate remains visible in your analytics history.
This behavior may appear confusing at first, but it ensures that your full certification activity is retained for historical and compliance tracking purposes.
Expected Behavior
When a certificate expires and you complete the related course again, the system does not replace the expired certificate with the new one. Instead, it adds a new, valid certificate to your record while preserving the previous, expired certificate in your certification history.
This functionality is intentional and designed to maintain a comprehensive record of all certification events.
How to View Only Active Certificates
Although expired certificates remain visible, you can easily refine your dashboard view to display only your currently active certifications.
To do this:
Navigate to the Analytics page > Certificates progress
Select the “Active” filter
Under the Certificates category, check the box labeled Active.View active certificates only
The dashboard will automatically refresh to display data and metrics related only to your active certificates.
Applying this filter helps you focus on your current certifications and confirm your active compliance status.
