When you assign a Learning Path to a learner, all courses included in that Learning Path are automatically assigned to them as well. This is expected behavior and ensures that learners have direct access to every required course within the Learning Path.
As a result, learners may see:
The Learning Path assigned to them
Each individual course from that Learning Path also listed separately
These individual courses are visible in the Learner Workspace, on the Overview page, where they appear in the Training in Progress stream. This approach supports flexibility, as well as accurate progress and completion tracking at the course level, while still maintaining the overall structure of the Learning Path.
Why Courses Are Displayed Individually
A Learning Path functions as a container that groups courses together, but course-level assignment is what allows the platform to:
Track progress accurately
Support reporting and analytics
Allow learners to resume training exactly where they left off
Because of this, Learning Paths cannot be assigned without also showing their included courses.
How Learners Can Focus on Learning Paths Only
If a learner prefers to view just their Learning Paths rather than the individual courses, they can easily adjust their view.
Here’s how they can do it:
Go to My Training
Open the In Progress tab
Use the Learning Path filter (checkbox)
This filter allows learners to focus specifically on Learning Paths and view their progress at a higher level, without distraction from individual course listings.
Key Takeaway
Seeing individual courses alongside a Learning Path is part of how the platform delivers a complete and flexible learning experience. While courses are always assigned individually behind the scenes, learners have simple filtering options that help them focus on Learning Paths whenever they prefer.
If you’re designing onboarding or structured training, this setup ensures both clarity for learners and robust tracking for administrators.
