Custom fields let you narrow a user list down to exactly the people you care about — for example, everyone with a specific hire date, region, or any attribute your academy tracks. On pages that show a user listing, custom-field filtering is grouped into a single Custom fields section, so you add only the fields you want to filter on instead of scrolling through every field at once.
Where the Custom fields section appears
The Custom fields section is available on pages that combine a user listing with custom-field filtering, including:
- Manage members
- Extend due dates
- My Team Dashboard — Learners, training pages (Courses, Learning paths, Microlearning, Events, OJTs, Exams), development pages (Performance reviews, Goals, Coaching), and compliance-by-training views
- Team Workspace — OJT sign-off, and ILT manage registrants / manage participants (in-class and virtual)
- Training Admin Workspace — Impact Learning Paths plan Members tab
By-person pages are the exception — they do not include the Custom fields section.
Opening the section and adding fields
Select the Custom fields section to open a dropdown of your academy's custom fields. The dropdown shows the placeholder Add fields and lists all of the academy's custom fields. Each field has a checkbox, and you can select more than one.
To find a field quickly, use the search box in the dropdown and type the field's name.
Selecting a field applies it as a filter
Selecting a field adds it as an active filter on the fly — there is no separate confirm or OK step. Once a field is added, enter the value or values you want to filter the list by, and the listing updates to match.
Removing a selected field
Each selected field appears with a delete (x) button. Selecting it or the delete button removes the field, clears its filter tag from the page, and refreshes the user list so the results no longer reflect that filter.
Your selections are remembered
Fields you have selected stay selected after you close and reopen the Custom fields panel, so you can review or adjust your filters without setting them up again.
