With this release, skills can now be mapped to more than just the courses created within your academy. Package courses, coupon and purchased courses, and provider courses — Udemy, Go1, LinkedIn Learning, BizLibrary, Skillable, and more — can now be connected to your Academy's skills, right alongside your own academy-created content.
This closes a gap for teams that rely heavily on outside content for career pathing and competency tracking; until now, third-party courses simply couldn't count toward a skill.
Mapping Skills to External and Provider Courses
Wherever you already map skills to courses — the individual skill's courses panel and the bulk Map Skills > Courses list in Development Admin — a new Academy courses / External courses toggle lets you switch to browsing every non-academy-created course, with its own search field and Language filter. Mapping is manual for these courses, the same way it always has been for any newly-added skill.
Externally Supplied Exams and Assessments
Most external and provider courses don't have exam questions inside the platform. Now, completing one of these courses generates a skill assessment automatically — from the course's SCORM or AICC score when it has one, or from the completion percentage reported by providers like LinkedIn Learning, Go1, Udemy, and Skillable once the course reaches Completed status. Your Academy's existing assessment rules (all attempts averaged, or only passed attempts, first or averaged) apply exactly the same way they already do for internal courses.
One Report, Both Kinds of Courses
The Courses Mapped With Skills report now includes non-academy-created courses alongside your own, using the same columns you already rely on — so you get one complete picture of how your whole learning catalog supports the skills you're building.
