Announcements Types

Announcements appear in their gadgets on the Learner, Team, and Academy Admin homepages, as well as via email, if the individual has added theirs to their profile.

There are three types of announcements:

  • Academy Announcements
  • Course Announcements
  • Learning Path Announcements

Academy Announcements

Admins and Training Managers in an academy can send announcements to all members, specific individuals, or selected groups. Additionally, users assigned to a role with the "Send announcements" permission enabled are also able to send announcements.

If you are one of these users, navigate to the upper navigation panel and select Personal Messages.

Under the Announcements tab, open the Create Announcement dropdown menu and choose Academy announcement.

If you prefer users not to receive an email notification for the academy announcement, but only a personal (in-app) message, you will need to adjust the relevant setting in your Academy Notifications.

To do this follow the steps below:

In the left navigation, make sure you are in the Academy Workspace.

In the Academy Workspace, navigate to Notifications, and then select Academy.

Select the General Academy filter and locate the notification titled "You got a message from [Your Academy Title]."

Within this notification:

  • Disable the Email notification toggle.
  • Keep the Real-Time notification (In-App & Mobile) option enabled.

Course and Learning Path Announcements

You can send announcements relating to a course or learning path to all learners, only to those who have completed it, or only to those who haven’t.

If you are an Academy Admin, Training Manager or a user assigned to a role with the "Send announcements" permission enabled, navigate to the upper navigation panel and select Personal Messages.

Under the Announcements tab, open the Create Announcement dropdown menu and choose either Course or Learning path announcement.

Then, choose the specific learning path or course from the list.

You can choose to send announcements individually or based on specific criteria.

In the By Person tab, the Enrolled Learners dropdown allows you to target All enrolled learners, Completed, or Not completed.

The same selection options—listed under the Completion field—are also available in the By Criteria tab.

Available options:

  • All enrolled learners

  • Only enrolled learners who have not completed

  • Only enrolled learners who have completed
