Marking Learner Progress as Complete

As an Academy Administrator, Training Manager or Manager with the relevant permission enabled (Complete Training), you are able to mark an individual’s course, learning path, or lecture progress as completed if needed.

Courses / Learning Paths

To mark a course or learning path as complete, select Team in the workspace launcher.  Under Self-Paced Training on the left, select Mark as Complete.

Select the desired course's title from the list that appears. This same process applies for learning paths under the Learning paths tab.

On the next page, you have two choices. You can select individuals or create parameters.

By Person

Under the By person tab, select the desired individuals to move them from the left column to the right.

After selecting all appropriate individuals, you can choose to force a notification to let the individuals know. Lastly, select Mark as Completed.

By Criteria

Under the By criteria tab, you have the option to create parameters based on your organization's structure. This would make it easier, for example, to select everyone at a specific store. The total number of affected individuals will appear beside each selection, and there is an option to download the list of those.

After building the rule, you can choose to force a notification to let the individuals know. Lastly, select Mark as Completed.

Bonus

There is another option while reviewing progress in My Team's Dashboard.

Selecting the wrench icon throughout My Team's Dashboard will call up the settings of that item.

You can mark as complete there, as well as fill in the details and leave a comment. Your completion will save immediately, but the details you adjust will need to be saved.

Marking Lectures as Complete

When tracking progress in My Team's Dashboard, you are able to unfurl the details of any course to track the progress of each individual lecture.

Selecting the wrench icon gives you the option to complete just that lecture, if needed.

Notes and Tips

  • If the user that you are trying to mark as complete has an active completion, then you will not be able to mark them as completed. These may be cases where a lecture was added to the course while the “Maintain Progress” was set to No, and the user now has an active completion but with 0% progress. Tips!

  • If you mark a course/learning path as complete with a past completion date, the certificate and the current course/learning path progress will be affected based on the Course/Learning Path settings.
As an example, if the completion date was 01/01/2016 and the course certificate expiration period was set to 12 months, the Certificate that will be issued will be automatically marked as expired.
  • You can later track the courses/learning paths that have been Marked as Completed for users, by using the Completed by Admin field in Report Builder. You can also use the Complete by Admin Comments field to review any comments that have been added for these users.
