Release Date 19 February
There are a number of sidebar gadgets added with this update. Sidebar gadgets are widgets, found in the right-hand side area, and are all configurable based on your academy's needs.
List of Available Gadgets
The following are the gadgets available with this release:
- High priority Announcements - Important company announcements
- Bookmarks - Create a custom web widget
- My learning overview (26 February Release) - Your learning progress and analytics
- Team learning overview (26 February Release)- Overview of your team’s learning progress
- On-the-job training - The latest OJTs that need your review or sign-off
- Games - Your top games
- Latest certificates - Most recent certificates earned by your team
- My development - Track your personal career growth
- Learning path status by Learner (26 February Release)- Track learners’ progress across learning paths
- Shortcuts - Shortcuts to your frequently used tasks
- Groups - Recent activity from the groups you're part of
- Suggested Groups - Groups that match your interests and professional goals
- Pinned reports (26 February Release) - Quick access to important reports
Configuring Gadgets
Gadgets are enabled and configured at two tiers — academy-level and user-level. Academy admins determine what gadgets are available in the academy, and in which workspaces they are viewed. Then individual users can configure the visibility of the gadgets to which they have access.
The easiest way to do this is through the menu drop-down just above the gadgets themselves. Those without Academy Setting permissions, will not see that option.
Selecting Academy Sidebar Settings takes you into your Academy opens the Academy Admin Control Panel. Select Sidebar.
There you will see all the gadgets currently available.
Within each you can enable or disable where each should appear — on mobile and desktop, as well as on each of the workspaces in your academy.
Save when finished.
Some gadgets allow for more nuanced visibility. You can allow access to only those associated with a specific Unit, for example, group, or academy system role. When choosing these options, the gadget will be allowed to appear on all default workspaces, leaving it up to each individual's preference on where it is viewed.
Shortcuts Configuration
You are able to show up to six shortcuts in that gadget. To configure them, simply drag and drop the six you would like to use to the top of the list.
Bookmarks Configuration
The Bookmarks gadget allows for you to provide needed links. Multiple bookmark sets can be created and treated as independent gadgets.
Give each set a title and description. Select Add bookmark to add the needed links.
You are able to add external links by copying and pasting the URL into the Paste link field, or choose specific pages within your academy from that drop down menu.
Lastly, you can upload an image to represent each bookmark if you wish to.
User-Level Configuration
Individuals can then adjust those gadgets to which they have access.
