Why Doesn't Sharing Content to a Group Library Generate a Wall Post?

Scenario

You have shared a file to a Group Library, expecting an automated post to appear on the Group Wall to inform members of the new content. However, no such post was generated—even though the "Someone shared content with your group" notification is enabled under Social Workspace > Notifications > Academy > Groups.

Why This Happens

This behavior is typically due to the "Show auto-generated posts" setting being disabled for the group.

Even if the relevant notification is active, the system will not display the corresponding wall post unless this setting is enabled.

How to Verify and Fix This

To confirm and update the group setting:

  1. Navigate to Social Workspace > Groups > All Groups.

  2. Locate and click on the group in question.

  3. Click Edit Group.

  4. Go to the Settings tab.

  5. Ensure the "Show auto-generated posts" option is enabled.

Once this setting is turned on, future actions—such as sharing content to the Group Library—will trigger the appropriate automated posts on the Group Wall.

Note: Enabling this setting does not retroactively create posts for past actions. Only new actions performed after enabling the setting will generate wall posts.
