Release Date 24 September
This release adds a new game learners can play to compete with each other in small groups. Competitions are centered around Activity Rings, so Activity Rings must be enabled and properly set up in the Academy.
Enabling Competitions
While creating or editing your Activity Ring, you will now see a step labeled Competitions.
To enable competitions in your academy, turn on the Allow trainees to compete with each other toggle.
Starting a Competition
When enabled, learners will see the Compete with team option within Activity Rings (Social Workspace > Game Center > Activity Rings).
A modal will appear, allowing the learner to configure their competition.
The title, by default, will reflect the date of the competition, but can be edited if desired.
The learner can the choose up to four additional team members, by searching for their names, and selecting them from the list that appears.
A competition can be up to four weeks long. When ready, the learner can start the competition.
Learners who have been invited will receive a notification that they've been invited, and can accept or decline the offer under Active competitions.
Competing
Competitions will commence, and points will start to accrue, from the start date of the competition. If an individual, for example, accepts a week into a four week competition, the points they've earned within that week will still be counted. If all decline, the competition will be canceled.
The host will then be able to track invites under active competitions.
All participants can also track progress of their active competitions there, and view more details if desired.
Badges
After Competitions have completed, participants will be awarded badges, based on their accomplishments and the badges characteristics. These badges associated with Competitions are not editable, and will be available even if badges have not been enabled in your academy.
