Homepage Workspace

The Homepage Workspace is an optional landing page for everyone in your academy. It can be customized with various gadgets, and personalized for the various teams within your organization or roles in your hierarchy. If enabled, the Homepage takes the top position in the workspace bar on the left, and becomes the landing page default for everyone in your academy. This replaces any and all other instances of homepages in other workspaces.

Note: If you are switching to New Experience, you may see that configurations in Classic have transferred over to your Homepage configurations. However, making changes in New Experience Homepage configurations will not affect those in Classic.

Enabling the Homepage

 To enable the Homepage in your academy, select the Academy Workspace. Then, under Settings, General. Then, Homepage Editor. There, toggle Make Homepage visible.

NOTE: Once the Homepage has been enabled in the academy, users will no longer be able to select their default landing page.

Configuring Homepages

There are two default configuration that can be customized — Admins, training managers, and members with management jobs, and All members without management jobs. Alternatively, as many as 50 custom configurations can also be created and assigned using your organizational structure.

To choose the gadgets for each, unfurl the desired configuration. You'll see several gadgets already in place, but you can reposition or delete each, as needed.

To add additional gadgets, select Add gadget at the bottom of the list.

Then choose the gadget from the list, and select Add.

More gadgets are planned on being released in the coming months.

Create Custom Configurations

To add a custom configuration, select Create configuration.

Give the configuration a name, and then select the appropriate organizational elements. 

You can then set up the gadgets for the configuration as described earlier. 

Users will only see one configuration. Configurations can be rearranged in order of priority. If a user belongs to more than one, they will see only the first presented in the list, from top to bottom. In the example below, if the user was a Head Of and also a Supervisor, they would only see the Head Of configuration, since it is higher on the list (or, rather, will be when it is dropped in its top position).

If a user does not fit any of the customized configuration, they will be shown either the management or non-management default configuration.

NOTE: Gadgets will not appear to users if there is no information to populate the gadget. For example, they would not see their not the announcements gadget if there were no available announcements.

Viewing your Homepage

Currently, gadgets are similar to the sidebar gadgets, but in a landscape layout, as opposed to portrait. 

Users are able to rearrange the gadgets on their Homepage, if allowed in your academy.

Academy administrators can disable this privilege when configuring the Homepages.

NOTE: While on the Homepage, the right sidebar gadget will be locked in its closed position.
