New Experience Resource Standardization

Release date 11 December

This release will standardize and finalize the Resources (Library) feature across all workspaces (Learner, Training Admin, and Team) — ensuring that resources are consistent, up-to-date, and accessible according to user roles and permissions. Specifically, this release will update the Resource areas in the Team Workspace and Training Admin section of the Academy Workspace to align better with that found in the Learner Workspace.

Note: The Resource experience in both the Team Workspace and Training Admin section of the Academy Workspace are identical, with each dependent on the user's permissions for specific visibility and functionality.

New Experience Design Language

The update brings the New Experience design language prevalent throughout into Resources. Filtering, searching, and sorting are now available to help find specific resources easier. Filtering options include Category type, Category, Preferences, Type, Added by, Expiration date, and language. Sorting can be alphabetically, date added, date updated, or priority.

Resources can be viewed in a list view or in a grid.

Editing Multiple Resources and Categories

Selecting Edit, reveals two options — to edit resources or categories.

Selecting Edit categories will take you to the Resource Categories page, where you can add or edit sections and categories as needed.

Selecting Edit resources reveals a check box associated with each resource. Selecting one or more check boxes allows their categories or tags to be adjusted, or to delete the resources.

Choosing to delete resources will reveal a warning that must be confirmed before deletion can commence.

Changing resource categories brings up a modal where the category selections can be made before saving.

Editing and Viewing Individual Resources

Selecting a resource takes you into its page, where you can view the resource, and adjust its many options.

Streams

If enabled in your academy, Resources can also show several specialized streams at the top of the page. Select the stream you would like to view using its drop-down. This can be adjusted per user.

Adding Resources

Selecting the Add button allows you to add either a URL or a file.

Creating a Course from the Resource Page

If you have the permission to do so, you can drag and drop resources to the strip at the bottom of the page to begin building a course
