Learners now find out right away when they are awarded or earn a badge. Badge awards can send an in-app notification as well as a mobile push notification, so recognition reaches learners in the moment instead of waiting for an email.
This release adds two new notifications and adds in-app and mobile notifications to two existing notifications.
What is New
In-app and mobile badge notifications – a badge notification appears in the notification bell, which updates its unread count, and in the notifications inbox. It also arrives as a mobile push notification, and it shows up in real time for learners who have the app open.
Four badge award notifications – there is one for badges awarded by a person at the academy or group level, one for earning a courses or learning paths badge, one for earning a goal badge, and a new one for earning an event badge.
- Someone awarded a badge to you — (Notifications > Academy > Social > Badges) — In-app and mobile notifications added to the existing email notification
- You've earned a course or learning path badge — (Notifications > Academy > Training > Courses and Learning Paths) — In-app and mobile notifications added to the existing email notification
- You've earned a goal badge — (Notifications > Academy > Development > Goals) — NEW In-app, mobile, and email notifications added
- You've earned an event badge — (Notifications > Academy > Training > Events) — NEW In-app, mobile, and email notifications added
Control for Academy Admins – each badge award notification has its own in-app and mobile toggle on the Notifications page, so admins choose which ones their learners receive. All of them are turned off by default, and existing email notifications are not affected.
