Course Publishing / Visibility Options
At the top of each page, there is a redesigned publishing panel.
Course Creation / General Info
When creating a course or editing its general details, the course's details have been divided into categorized sections.
- Course details — The title, description and tags trainees see in the catalog
- Classification — Where the course sits in your catalog and who it is pitched at
- Identification and duration — Reference codes and how long the course takes
- Certificate — Whether completing this course awards a certificate, and how long it lasts
Under Advanced settings, within an accordion, the following are found:
- Completion & retakes — What happens when a trainee finishes, and whether they can take the course again
- Availability & compliance — When the course retires, who may enroll, and whether it counts as compliance training
- Learner experience — What the trainee sees and can do around the course
- Learning Path behavior — How this course behaves inside a curriculum
- Credits — How this course handles credits
- Licensing & internal notes — Who owns the content, and notes only administrators can see
Course Skills
There are separate tabs for course related skills and exam-specific skills.
Under the Course skills tab, selecting Add skill will reveal a panel from the right side.
There you can search and filter for specific skills, and map them at the bottom of the page.
Under the Exam skills tab, the course exams are listed. You can review which skills are attached to each, as well as easily edit the exam.
Course Copy / Archive
Copying a course has the same functionality as before, with a slightly different look.
Archiving courses is a similar case — same functionality, just a slightly different look.
Course Notifications
Course notifications have been updated to be more in line with the New Experience design language.
Course Pricing
Course Pricing has also received the New Experience treatment.
Course Lectures and Supplemental Material
Adding a lecture from the academy library or uploading a new look. Select Add lectures to open your academy's Resources; then drag and drop as before. Selecting upload and choosing an option from the drop-down menu will start the process to which we are all accustomed.
The lecture list is now more in line with the New Experience lists.
Options included are the following:
- Visibility
- Edit
- Download
- Update
- Upload image
- Delete
Selecting the check boxes allow you to adjust the visibility of one or more lectures.
Uploading Supplemental Material has different looking buttons. Each will reveal a side panel, where setup of each should be fairly straightforward.
Course Certificates
Certificates work in very much the same way as they have up until now, but has had a New Experience upgrade.
Course Badges
Course badges inherit the New Experience academy badge design language.
Step Management
Step management has been updated to align better with the New Experience design language. There are four tabs to take you into the different areas:
- Steps
- Lectures progress
- Exam progress
- OJT progress
Under Steps, you can make the sequence mandatory or leave it suggested, add a schedule, and rearrange the steps as needed.
Under Lectures, Exam, and OJT progress, there are options for what happens when new items are added or updates are made.
